AVR actions
AVR raises public awareness about roadway dangers by:
- participating in activities that present information
- mobilizing all road safety stakeholders directly or indirectly
- focusing on educating youth and promoting information campaigns in schools
- organizing action days to help reduce the number and severity of traffic accidents
- maintaining relationships with organizations pursuing similar or complementary objectives nationally. For exmaple, AVR has made a pamphlet of information in cooperation with the police on the theme "What to do in case of an accident?"
- collaborating with associations of other countries within the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR)
AVR focuses on:
- youth education
- adult behaviour, namely, driving without stress and without violence
- recklessness, inexperience and risk-taking by young drivers
- adequate infrastructure
- vehicle maintenance.
AVR supports efforts to educate drivers about the dangers of the road:
- alcohol, drugs and medications
- speed
- seatbelts
- fatigue and sleepiness
- headlights
- mobile phone use.
